The escapologist strikes again!

Yesterday morning while feeding the rabbits I came accross an empty hutch belonging to a big white rabbit. I was quick to notice that there was a hole big enough for her to slip through and realised that that was what she had done.
Not knowing when she had escaped or where she was I began a small panic when to my great relief I saw her huge white ears poking out from behind Nuff's run. I immeadiately went over to her and picked her up and as she had used up all of her energy escaping she had no choice but to be carried to a spare run where she would spend the rest of the day. She spent the night in a very well furnished box complete with shavings and this morning I cleaned out an empty hutch which she is now in until we sort out a proper run for her.
Another surprise had come when after wo sold her sons who had been living with her I found Rosie had built a nest and is therefore obviously expecting kittens!
Thats all for now.
PS all other rabbits are fine and Guiness the new rabbit seems to settling in well in his new hutch although he does seem to be missing the female that he was with before we moved him!

The return of the escapologist

Today we had a busy job running around the garden after our rabbit Rosie. She had been let out into her run and had dug out of it. After we had unsuccessfully tried to catch her, we left her to have a little run around. Later on when I had a friend round he managed to catch her and we shut her in her house much to her dissapproval.
All of the other rabbits are fine and all of the babies are doing well.

RIP baby socks

Yesterday evening one of my bunnies passed away. He died from the snuffles. Although I was very upset, it wasnt a big surprise to me as I have already had one rabbit pass away from this disease. The rabbit that has already passed away from the disease was called George. They may both be gone but we still remember them.
Out five baby rabbits are very well and are zooming around their cage like little rockets! The other white rabbit is tunneling and will soon be at Australia!
Thats all for now but I'll keep you posted!

New baby bunnies!

Wednesday morning Mum found five baby bunnies in one of my bunny's house. We're not sure of their exact apperance yet but I'm sure that they'll look a bit like a dutch rabbit but with big ears, this is because their mother is and albino lop and their father is a black dutch. But anyhow, regardless of their markings they will certainly be as cute as the rest!

Number of bunnies

Just to let you know folks that we do in fact have a grand total of 11 rabbits!
Bubblegub, Nuff Nuff, Moppy, Floppy, Rosie, Spot, Patch, Rosay, Champagne, Martini and Socks! All but two of them and black dutch and the two that aren't are albino lops, (Moppy and Floppy). I just thought I'd let you know!

Bunnies galore!

More bunnies are on the way!!! Another one got mated up today and hopefully in a few weeks we will have another litter to care for!! But for now we are happy with what we have. I have experimented with some ice and carrots and after putting some carrot pieces in a beaker and freezing I ended up with carrot pops!! The bunnies love them because of the hot weather and of course, the fact that they taste of carrot! They have beem licking happily in the sun for most of the afternoon and are quite pleased with themselves when they get through the ice to find several pieces of carrot awailting them!
Thats all for now, I'll keep you posted on the bunny developments!

Baby bunnies

I have been able to hold my baby bunnies today (Champagne and Martini) they can walk now and are currently exploring their hutch while their mother (Bubblegum) takes a well earned lie down. Dad has looked at them closely and has proclaimed to me that one of them may be a possible show rabbit and this is good because they are pure bred dutch!!I will soon take some more photos!!
